Trauma and Sexuality-Affirming Therapy for Individuals and Couples in Spokane, WA, and Austin, TX

Helping queer adults and their partners manage anxiety and feel more at home in themselves

I help adults unlearn people-pleasing, heal from relational trauma, and build a more secure sense of who they are. Together, we do the kind of work that makes you feel more whole and more present in the relationships and life you're building.

Who I Work With

  • High-functioning professionals doing all the work and still feeling empty
  • Former ‘gifted kids’ recovering from people-pleasing and perfectionism
  • Queer folks bringing their whole hearts to complex relationships
  • Trauma survivors ending cycles of abuse in their families
  • Women still looking for the place where they belong
  • If any of this resonates, you might be in the right place

Areas I Help With

  • Relationship challenges
  • Burnout and chronic stress
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Self-discovery and feeling comfortable in your body
  • Autism, ADHD, and other neurodivergences
  • Compersion and secure attachment
  • Boundaries and people-pleasing
  • Intergenerational family dynamics

My Approach to Therapy

I use evidence-based approaches including DBT, EMDR, and somatic experiencing to help you recognize patterns, reprocess painful memories, and move closer to the person you want to be. Our work is practical and grounded in your real life, focused on the changes you're ready to make and building the insight to sustain them.

What It's Like to Work Together

My style is warm, expressive, and direct. In our sessions, I’m conversational and transparent, helping you better understand your experiences and giving you clear strategies to move forward. Our time together is adaptable - we can also do guided visualizations, work with archetypal imagery, and craft together if you like something to do with your hands. As we meet, clients often feel more empowered, self-assured, and at ease.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer virtual therapy?

Yes, I offer virtual sessions for clients throughout Washington and Texas.

How quickly can I expect to feel better?

Most clients notice an improvement in symptoms after a few weeks, and gradual fine-tuning after that point.

What will we discuss in therapy?

If it’s important to you, it’s important to me. Likewise, if you’re not ready to talk about something, we don’t go there. Some people talk about family dynamics, relationship patterns, vulnerability, insecurity, and intense emotions. We can also talk about the recurring dream you’re having about Ernest Shackleton’s 1912 expedition to Antarctica, or the knitting project you’ve frogged six times and how you’re gearing up for the seventh. I’m here for it all, and it all matters.

Do you work with couples as well as individuals?

Yes, I work with individuals and couples navigating relationship structures, identity, communication challenges, and so on. Sessions are tailored to what you and your partner need.

What if I cannot make it to a session?

If you're ill, I want you to rest, have a nap, maybe some hot tea. I'm human too, and I know it's hard to do therapy when your sinuses, your lungs, or a chronic illness is showing up. My 48-hour cancellation policy applies to non-illness situations. If we can reschedule within the same week, I waive the $100 cancellation fee. Money shouldn't be a barrier to getting support, and I'll do my best to make rescheduling work.

What is EMDR, and is it right for me?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a structured therapy that helps you process and reduce the distress of traumatic memories. We'd discuss whether it's a good fit during our first sessions together.
